Remember watching that first snow silently nest in your hand-made decorations? What a thrill to see the morning sun sparkle across the meadow and settle on Pop's Adirondack chair. "Do you think we'll have school today?" "Look at the pin-stripe shadows from that old snow fence." "Do we have enough wood?" "What's a manger?" "Has anyone seen my other mitten?"

Are these sights and sounds familiar to you? As I painted this winter scene, those kinds of memories flashed through my mind. My hope is that this watercolor study will create in your mind a wonderful collection of memories as well.
